Who is the owner of DMW record label?

DMW is owned by Davido who was born David Adedei Adeleke on 21st December 1992 in Atlanta, Georgia, United States and raised in Lagos, Nigeria.

Davido began his musical career as a member of the group KB international. And while studying Business Administration at Oakwood University, Davido dropped out of school to jumpstart a musical career as a music producer and singer.

He came into the musical limelight after dropping his debut single titled “Dami Duro” in 2012 and the same year he followed up with his debut album titled “Omo Baba Olowo” which means “Son of a rich man” in the Yoruba language.

The album had 66 additional singles added to Dami Duro to make it 7 tracks, and the 6 additional tracks were: “Back When”, “Ekuro”, “Overseas”, “All of You”, “Gbon Gbon” and “Feel Alright”.

Between 2013 and 2015, Davido has so far released hit singles like “Gobe”, “One of a Kind”, “Skelewu”, “Aye”, “Tchelete (Goodlife)”, “Naughty”, “Owo Ni Koko”, “The Sound” and “The Money”. And in 2012, he won the Next Rated award at The Headies.

Davido came into the mucial limelight in 2011 when he released his debut single titled “Dami Duro”. TThe very same year, he followed up with the release of his 7 tracks album knowhich he titled “Omo Baba Olowo” meaning “Son of a rich man”.

Currently, he has 4 albums to his credit and his recent album dropped in 2023 was titled “Timeless” and it has hit songs like “Unavailable”, “No Competition’ and “Na ‘money”.

Last year in 2022, the singer tragically lost his only son, Ifeanyi to the cold hands of death when he drowned in their swimming pool and in the same year he got married to the mother of the child and lover, Chef Chioma.

It is worth mentioning that Davido is the artist that tops the list of all DMW record members.

2. PERUZZI.

Peruzzi whose real name is Tobechukwu Victor Okoh is arguably the most talented artist in DMW Record. Recently, he released his debut album titled ” Huncho Vibes” under, and the song in the album has really made Peruzzi very famous.

3. DREMO.

Born Aboriomoh Femi Raymond and musically known as Dremo is a Nigerian singer, rapper, sound engineer and songwriter who is signed to DMW record label.

After he was signed to the DMW Record label, Dremo has dropped a couple of songs and some of them includes “Codename Vol 1” and “Icen B4 the cake”.

4. YONDA.

Yonda was born Adeniran Adetunji on 11th January 1992 and he is a Nigerian singer and songwriter who was signed to DMW record label on January 2017 after which he released his hit single “Las Veg”.

5. IDOWEST.

Born in 1992 as Adekunle Idowu and being musically referred to as Idowest is a member of DMW Records and was signed as a second rapper to the record label in 2018.

6. DJ ECOOL.

DJ Ecool whose real name is Ebianga Inyang Ikpeme hails from Akwa Ibom State in Nigeria, and he is an International DJ, host, and promoter who was signed into DMW as the label’s official DJ.

Aside from being signed to DMW Record label, he has worked with big artists like Wizkid, Doug E. Fresh, Sound Sultan, and Ludacris.

He has several hits to his credit including ‘Ada’, ‘Personally’ etc.

7. MAY D.

Akinmayokun Awodumila is musically known as May D and was born on the 28th of December 1984. He was formally signed to R&B duo P-Square’s record label known as Square records but after unknown issues with his former label, May D was signed to DMW Record label on July 18, 2020.

8. DEINDE.

Deinde who was born Deinde Babatunji Okubajo on the 26th of September is best known for his reggae dancehall and RnB music pattern.

Towards the end of 2020 he signed a record deal with DMW record label, and the news of his signing was shared on social media by Davido himself on the 26th of September.

9. LIYA.

Liya is currently the defunct first lady of the DMW record label. The news of her joining the record label was announced on 2nd October 2020 by the CEO, Davido.
