Asake is a Nigerian singer and songwriter who was formerly signed to one of the top record labels in Nigeria known as YBNL Nation record label which is owned by a Nigerian rapper, singer and songwriter known as Olamide.It could be recall that earlier in the week, viral reports circulated about the fact that Asake has removed everything about YBNL Nation record label from his social media handles and virtually unfollowed every member of the record label, including his boss Olamide.In this post therefore, we are going to take a survey on what actually happened between Asake and Olamide.

What happened between Asake and Olamide is that both artists have reportedly parted ways after the latter terminated the record contract of the former who was signed to his imprint YBNL Nation record label.

As reported by videowheelztv, as the party agreed concerning the record contract termination, Asake is permitted to leave with the masters to all the songs he recorded while he was signed to them.The agreement howveer maintained that both parties are going to maintain a percentage share of the royalties coming from the songs he made under the label for a minimum of 10 years.
Taculia Entertainment gathered that the record contract was terminated a few months ago in the aftermath of the release of his Asake’s album, Lungu Boy.
Speaking on the separation, Olamide reportedly said:

I didn’t create YBNL because I wanted to make money. I created it because I wanted to see other young people grow, so if any artist under me wants to leave, they are free.

He added more specifically that,

Asake has done his part, and I’m proud of him.
