Nigerian afrobeat superstar known as Wizkid has gained international recognition ever since he came into the music limelight in 2010 after the release of his hit single titled “Holla At Your Boy”.
His first record label deal was with Empire Mates Entertainment, a record label founded and owned by Nigeria’s R&B superstar known as Banky W.
During his days in Empire Mates records, Wizkid released his debut studio album which was titled “Superstar”, and the album became a very great success.
After leaving Empire Mates records, Wizkid established his own record label known as Starboy Records and released couple of successful work.
He is currently signed to RCA Records, a subsidiary of Sony Music Entertainment. But before then, there is a brief record deal he signed which is not much talked about, but since so many people are eager to know if it truly happened, I thought it wise to feed them the truth.

Yes, Wizkid was once signed to Akon’s record label known as Konvict music, he revealed this during his 2012 press conference which was posted on Factory 87, an online TV.
He said: “am just signed to Konvict and definitely I might be moving to ATL to work, yeah, I am moving to ATL to work, yeah, so when I leave London, I started work on my international album already and definitely I will be working in ATL, am also working on a mixtape for my people out there in Africa”
