Ever since he broke into the Nigerian music industry limelight in 2022, Nigerian singer and songwriter known musically as Seyi Vibez has continued to enjoy massive commercial success even across the shores of Nigeria and Africa as a whole.

Recently it has been confirmed that Seyi Vibez has ended his contract with Dapper music as he was found to have deleted all his Instagram posts, removed the Dapper music imprint from his bio and replaced it with his own independent record label known as “Vibez Inc”

In this post therefore, we are going to look at what really caused the problem between Seyi Vibez and his former record label Dapper Music.

The problem between Dapper and Seyi Vibez is that Dapper wants 30% of Seyi Vibez earnings for life, and to keep the money coming Seyi Vibez has to drop music back to back, and on recovering this Seyi Vibez said No! enough is enough and exited the Dapper record label. alongside other of his label mates.

To confirm his departure from Dapper, Seyi Vibez deleted all his Instagram posts, removed the label’s name from his social media bio and replaced it with that of his independent record label known as Vibez Inc.This action also came in the heels of his cancelling Canadian tour on grounds that it was due to circumstances beyond his control, meaning that the show must have been booked by the record label and to prove he no longer belongs with them Seyi had to cancel it.

Even though Dapper and Seyi Vibez has called it quits on music business as a record label and artist, we should not forget in a hurry that they have both enjoyed remarkable success since they enacted their contract 2022.

The singer has won notable awards, example is the 2023 Headies Awards for Best Street Hop while also ending the year as one of Nigeria’s most streamed acts.

After exiting Dapper music, Seyi has kept himself busy by releasing a new EP titled ‘Loseyi Professor’, and this body of work has given him an astonishing 6 solo projects ever since he released his hit single in 2022 and broke into the Nigerian music mainstream.

Another evidence of staying relevant is the launch of his independent record label in Nigeria known as Vibez Inc under which he has revealed artists on line as potential members of the record label.We can’t but keep our fingers crossed to see what becomes of him in the years to come as far as the Nigerian music industry is concerned.
