Burna Boy has a record label known as Spaceship Records, which was founded on February 18 2015 and began to fully operate in 2020.

Spaceship records was relaunched under Spaceship Collective and it currently owns the highest share in the company. Burna Boy established this record label after his departure from Aristokrat Records which is owned by Piriye Isokrari.

In 2020, Burna Boy officially signed Leriq, Nissi, Tels and BNXN formerly known as Buju to spaceship records. Buut in April 2021, Buju announced his departure from spaceship Records.

Who is Burna Boy.

Burna Boy was born Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu on 2nd July 1991 and he is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and record producer who hails from Port Harcourt in Rivers State of Nigeria.

Burna Boy came to limelight after the release of his single “Like TTo Party” in 2012, and the following year, precisely 2013, he released his debut album title L.I.F.E. and in 2017 he gained international recognition after he was signed to Bad Habit/Atlantic Records and Warner Music Group.

In 2018, he released his third studio album which was tiled “Outside”, and the album was officially released under his record label Spaceship Records.

As a Grammy Award Winner, Burna Boy won the Best International Act at the 2019 BET Awards, and that fsame year he was announced as Apple Music Up Next artist .

In July 2019, Burna Boy released his fourth studio album titled ‘African Giant”, and the song won Album of the Year at the 2019 All Africa Music Awards and was nominated for Best World Music Album at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards. And in 2020 Burna Boy won the African Artist of the Year at the 2020 Ghana Music Awards.

In August of 2020, Burna Boy released his fifth studio album which was titled “Twice As Tall” and the song won Best World Music Album at the 63rd Annual Grammy Award. In 2021 he also won Best International Act at the 2021 BET Awards.

In July 2022, Burna Boy released his sixth studio album titled “Love Damini” and the album became the highest debut of an African album on the Billboard 200 chart. And in Netherlands, United Kingdom and France, the album also became the highest charted African album.

Burna Boy focuses on the Nigerian genre of music which is mainly pop and Afrobeats. But he always describes his music as Afro-fusion, which blends the genres R&B, hip hop, dancehall, and reggae
