I have personally watched the growth of the Nigerian music industry within such an astonishing pace, because during my time in the late 90’s there was nothing like a record label in the whole of Nigeria until the early 2000’s when Kennis music and Cornerstone records took the center stage.
But when you look at today you will realize that nearly all the successful musicians, who signed with one label or the other have established their own record labels, and even independent artist are not left out.
Example, Seyi Vibez recently left Dapper records to establish his own record label known as Vibez records and Portable as an independent artist has his own record label known as Zeh Nation.

Yes, Dapper is a record label in the Nigerian music industry which offers Nigerian artists the opportunity to sign record and distribution deals that will take their musical career to the highest peak.
This record label was founded in 2018 and is owned by Damilola Akinwunmi and has been home to notable Nigerian artists like Shallipopi, Seyi Vibez, TI Blaze, Balloranking, and BhadBoi OML.
Recently, there have been rumors of some of the artists mentioned above, i.e. Shallipopi, Seyi Vibeez and Muyeez exiting the record label after citing financial incompetences and negligence, but looking at the Dapper record label official website we can see all the artists mentioned above still listed as their artists.
And this goes to show that it might be a stunt by the record label to stay relevant and trend and everything is okay between them and their artists.
