Fireboy DML Current Record Label.

Nigerian afrobeat superstar known as Fireboy DML was born as Adedamola Oyinlola Adefolahan, on February 5, 1996 in  Abeokuta, Ogun state, and he began his musical journey as a member of his church choir.

While studying at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, he began to develop interest in music and after graduation from the prestigious OAU with a B.A in English, he moved to Lagos State to pursue music full time.

In this post, we are going to look to see if there is any record label behind the success of Fireboy’s musical career.

Which record label is Fireboy in now?

Fireboy DML is currently signed to Olamide’s YBNL Nation record label and also has a distribution record deal with Empire distribution record label.

He was signed to YBNL Nation record label in 2018 where he released his breakthrough single titled “Jealous” on the YBNL Nation’s collaborative album. The song, which was produced by Cracker Mallo was officially released on 25 March 2019 and and in the same year he released his debut studio album titled “Laughter, Tears and Goosebumps”

In JJune 2019, Fireboy made a comeback by releasing a ballad single which he titled “What If I Say” and the song was produced by Pheelz, the Mr. Producer. The music video for What If I Say was released later on and was directed by TG Omori.

On August 1, 2019, Fireboy released another single which he titled “King” and a music video directed again by TG Omori was released for the song soon after.

His debut studio album titled “Laughter, Tears and Goosebumps” was released on November 2019 against the 25th November which it was billed for release

The album had about 13 tracks and he did not feature any guest artists in a single track, and 3 days after its release the song would go on to amass over 6 million streams on Spotify.

It is worth noting that even though music critics gave a positive review of the album , they would also criticize it in the light of being an “Afro-Life’ record instead of an R&B album it was supposed to be.
