Chocolate City is a record label in Nigeria which was founded in 2005 by three lawyers Audu Maikori, Paul Okeugo, and Yahaya Maikori and it is operating as a subsidiary of Chocolate City Group which has other arms like Chocolate City Distribution, Chocolate City Events, CCX, and Chocolate City Media.
On March 28 2019, Chocolate City signed a partnership deal with the global Warner Music Group and this means that all the artists in the record label would receive the support of WMG music distribution and other artists services.
In this post therefore, we are going to take a look at all the current Chocolate City artists, and without much ado, let’s get started with it.
Chocolate City record label artists.
Chocolate City record label artists in 2025 are: Dice Ailes, Blaqbonez, Young Jonn, and Nosa. Other artists are Candy Bleakz, Noon Dave, Major Aj and Tar1q.
Let’s briefly look at how the record label has influenced each of this artists musical career.
1. Dice Alies.
Dice Alies was born Shasha Damilola Alesh and he is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and rapper who was signed into Chocolate City record label in July 2014.
Alies began his musical journey as a chorister and came into the musical limelight in 2016 after the release of his hit single “Miracle” which was produced by CKay and had a feature from Lil Kesh.
On December 21, 2016, Dice performed on stage at the Beat FM Xmas concert IN Lagos where he shared the stage with notable artists like: WSTRN, Krept and Konan, Migos and Lil Kesh.
2. Blaqbonez.
Blaqbonez was born Emeka Akumefule on January 29, 1996 and according to the artists he discovered his musical talent when he was thirteen years old while listening to the song of a twelve years old boy on the radio with his cousin who liked the song and challenged him to write his own lyrics due to his criticism of other rappers.
Few minutes later, Blaqbonez wrote enough bars and that was how the whole thing began.
He is currently signed to Chocolate City and has released a couple of studio jobs as proof.
3. Young Jonn
Young JJohn was born John Saviours Udomboso on 16 February 1995, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and record producer who hails from Aklwa Ibom State of Nigeria.
John began his musical career by playing a musical instrument as a child and alongside his brothers he formed a group called AVG and got signed to Hit Factory studio in 2012.
While in hit factory, John produced a chart-topping single by Olamide which was titled “Story For The Gods”. And at the 2015 edition of the Headies Award he was nominated for “Producer of The Year” for his work on “Bobo”, a song by Olamide which rose to critical acclaim.
John has produced hit songs for notable Nigerian artists like “Gbese” and “Efejoku” by Lil Kesh, “Biggest Backside” by Davido and album credits including The Baddest by Davido, 2 Kings by Olamide and Phyno and Eyan Mayweather by Olamide.
In 2022, John signed a record deal with Chocolate City and released a single from his EP titled “Dada”, and the EP was titled Love Is Not Enough (Vol. 1.
On October 21, 2022, Jonn released the second volume of the EP “Love is Not Enough” (Vol. 2), and all this was made possible by Chocolate City record label.
4. Nosa
Nosa was born Nosa Omoregie, and he is a Nigerian singer and songwriter, who is currently signed to Chocolate City partnering with Warner Music Group in 2012.
On November 11, 2009 Nosa released his first single, “Always Pray for You”, under the Chocolate City record label.
