OdumoduBlvck’s View On Artist Dispute With Their Record Labels.

During a recent interview with Hip TV, Nigerian rapper and songwriter OdumoduBlvck airs his own views on the many dispute happening between artists and their record labels.He opined that while the artists are the ones who are considered the victims by those outside, this is not always the case because inn most of the cases the artists seem to be so unreasonable.

The rapper maintained that while people often view these disputes from the label as a musical institution and the artist as a professional brand, the issues are oftentimes between individuals.
He continued by saying that when two individuals enter into a business, the human trait to have issues due to their differences is often the result of the artists and label dispute.
OdumodubBlvck shared that record labels are often seen as villains during these disputes with their signees, but in most cases the artists can also be unreasonableHe made an example out of an artists who makes unreasonable requests as well as proving to be difficult once they attain the fame.

The rapper also stated that when the artist becomes famous sometimes, they are bound to forget easily the investments and efforts the label made in order to make them become successful musicians.
He ended his views by also saying that even though the artists are also unreasonable at times, their record labels are also prone to be at fault.
On the different issues that lead to disputes between artists and labels he said: “Everybody must be accountable. It’s not a record labels are bad situation…There are things artists don’t come out to say during this conflict,”
OdumoduBlvck‘s comments is coming off the back of the recent issues between Dapper Music and its signees, Shallipopi and Muyeeez who have both terminated their contracts over the grounds that the label lacks financial transparency aand arre unfair in their business practices.
