While sitting to an interview with Trending on Hip TV, Nigerian rapper and songwriter, Odudumoblvck confirms that he is having beef with his colleague in the Nigerian music industry, Jaywon.He insisted that even though Jaywon is a friend, their friendship will not stop him from dissing him.He said inpidgin english: “Forget about the banter, Jaywon is my guy. I really love Jaywon,” he said. “Because you be my guy no mean say I no go diss you,”.Odudumoblvck’s main reason for beefing with Jaywon is that he has only one hit that he performs every single year. This reference is about Jaywon’s hit record “Odun Yi” that has span over thirteen years.This song which is filled with positive message for every new year is seen as a symbol of hope to every Nigerians who are hoping to make money and become prosperous before the new year ends.
In January 2025, Jaywon released a live performance of the song which attracted a lot of mockery by some commentators on social media who likened him to Mariah Carey for having one hit song he performs every year.In his response top the criticism, JJaywon maintained that he sees it as an honour to be compatred to Mariah Carey who has a classic record “All I want for Christmas” that continues to enjoy annual relevance.The beef between dumoduBlvck and Jaywon started when Odudumoblvck described Jaywon as “not all that”, and made a song that has the same title which he uses to diss and call him out on social media.Jaywon however took to his X account to react to OdudomoBlvck’s comment by expressing his anger that the rapper assumed they were beefing. He went further to advise him to focus on his rap career and get over the fact that he is still relevant in the Nigerian music industry today because of this one hit song.
