Nigerian afrobeat singer and songwriter who is musically known as Ruger has taken to his Instagram story to reveal that he will be dropping his new album titled “Blown Boy” soon.
He gave March 2025 as the expected month of his release.
This sophomore LP is a follow up to his 2024 joint album TITLED “RnB” with his foe turned friend BNXN.
Ruger has preceded the release of this new album with a release of the singles titled “Luv Again”, “Make Way” and Toma Toma which he features Nigeria’s afrobeat queen, Tiwa Savage.
This album is going to be Ruger’s second project after he parted ways with his record label Jonzing World in 2023 to start his own imprint known as Blown Boy which also happens to be the title of his forth coming album.
Ever since Ruger came to the music limelight in 2020 with his hit EP “Pandemic’, he has grown to become one of Nigeria’s afrobeat sensation.
The singer has made a name for himself by stylistically fusing dancehall, afrobeats and RnB together in his musical recordings.
Some of his popular hits include ‘Bounce’, and ‘Abu Dhabi’ off his debut EP. On his sophomore EP, he delivered the hit records ‘Girlfriend’ and ‘WeWe’.
His debut LP had chart-topping record like ‘Asiwaju’ which underscored his status as one of the finest artists of his generation.
We do hope the singer will have a very busy 2025 with the arrival of his new album which he will follow up with a tour of North America.
