Wizkid who was born Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun on 16 July 1990 Ojuelegba, a suburb of Surulere, Lagos State, is a popular Nigerian singer and songwriter.
His music is a blend of Afrobeats, afropop, R&B, reggae, dancehall and pop.
He took a dive at his music career by age eleven when he released a collaborative album with a group he and a couple of friends formed in church known as the Glorious Five.
His musical talent attracted the CEO of Empire Mates Entertainment (E.M.E) in the person of Banky who signed him into the record label in 2009.
Wizkid will go on to release his hit single in 2010 titled “Holla At Your Boy” and follow up the single with a studio album titled Superstar in 2011 which brought him to the limelight.
Fast forward to fifteen years later, i.e. 2025, Wizkid will still remain an icon in the Nigerian music industry having moved on from Empire Mates Entertainment after completing his deal tenure to establish his own record label.

Is Wizkid Under Any Record Label?
Wizkid is currently signed to his own record label known as Starboy Entertainment and he also has a multi-album worldwide record deal with RCA Records, a subsidiary of Sony Music, which he signed in March 2017.
His record label Starboy Entertainment was launched in March 2013 and it started off with the signing of two in-house producers into the label which included: Maleek Berry and Legendury Beatz.
In August of the same year, Wizkid signed L.A.X into the record label as the first recording artists.
In February 2016, DJ Tunez joined Starboy Records as an in-house disc jockey, and in May 2016, of the same year Wizkid signed three other artists, Efya, R2Bees, and Mr Eazi into Starboy Entertainment.
Other artists who are signed to Wizkid record label include Legendury Beatz, R2Bees, Terri, and Efya.
Starboy record label is managed by Jada P, who is also Wizkid’s third baby mama.
